This project was a competition to design and build an Ark for Temple Beth Am in Seattle, Washington. Furniture maker Robert Spangler and artist Alan Weinstein combined their efforts to win the competition. Rather than a traditional corner cabinet, the carved Mahogany Ark is balanced in a standing support structure that is pulled out from the corner. It is the flow of light and air around the Ark itself that allows it to "float" in its space.
