Sometimes a very special project comes along. We consider a Memorial Project as a special project and below are two recently completed. We worked closely with the families to create a unique piece in memory of a loved one and also is a gift to the public.
One is a table and two chairs to be housed in the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in the upper gallery. They become a place for the art viewers to sit, relax and read about the current show in the gallery.
The other project is a contemporary outdoor bench at the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum. Also a place to relax, remember and in honor of a dedicated docent at the Historical Museum.

We just delivered a jewel of a cabinet made from locally sourced and salvaged Western Maple from Bainbridge Island. The cabinet with sliding doors will be used for a vinyl record collection.

We just finished three new chairs. One led to another and the Studio Chair is the second in the series. It is very comfortable and minimal in nature, all solid wood with a back that reminds one of a music sheet and with a contoured seat.
The third chair was a challenge to make a chair entirely from 1″ x 1″ material. There are five identical pieces that make all the pieces for the chair with the spaces between the seat and back pieces also being 1″ wide.

We just delivered this Soglio Table and 8 Soho chairs in Claro and Eastern Walnut. The table is 42″w x 84″L in the closed position with a self storing leaf that expands to 107″.
We have decided to do the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour again this year and will host 5 other artists in our studio as well. We will provide more information as the date approaches the first weekend of December.

We just finished these 6 individual Tansu that stack together to form a whole. All of these fit into a 400sf space beneath a sloping ceiling. Complete with through mortices with even a writing desk at the end.

These two unique pieces were just delivered from our shop on the same day. The cabinet was made as a custom piece for an entry way by Birgit Josenhans using salvaged Western Maple and she embedded rocks and other “treasures” provided by the client in the top.
The round Cherry and Maple Table was also a custom order piece. 34″ in diameter with 5 sets of “V” legs. The “V” leg idea is from our good friend Art Grice in another table we built for him earlier.

The reception desk for BARN (Bainbridge Artisans Resource Network) designed and built in our shop using Elm wood salvaged from Bloedel Reserve and metal from the exterior of the new facility on Bainbridge Island. BARN is a 26000 sf building that houses studios for 11 different artisans groups offering open studio times for members of BARN and classes in the various disciplines.
