Ordering

How to order:

I am a mostly custom “one at a time” furniture maker. We have shipped our work to most states and a few pieces internationally. I enjoy working with clients and many times this collaboration results in a new and unexpected piece that may exceed a preconceived idea.

To order something I try to understand a client’s needs. This can be done via emails, photos or a phone call. For new custom pieces I will do a drawing if needed. This drawing will be to scale (3D rendering) and provides an accurate representation of the piece. For a more complicated drawing I ask for a fee of $250 and will apply this amount to the piece if the project proceeds. The drawing will continue the dialogue where changes can be made if necessary.

Once a design is decided upon, woods chosen and all details determined I will do a cost estimate for the piece and include shipping costs if needed. If then we proceed I ask for a 50% deposit to initiate the project, begin to purchase materials and make a spot on my schedule. The remainder, any taxes and shipping are then due upon completion of the project and before shipping.

I will keep you involved in the project with digital photographs of the progress.

We also often have pieces ready to go and will let you know of this on our web site, usually in the “Current News” section.

Hi Bob,
We got the dressers yesterday. They are beautiful. You did a really nice job with them. And there is a lot of storage which is great. I will send you a photo after I get a chance to clean up the room bit. It was nice working with you.

How much do I love my new bed? I keep going in the bedroom just to stare at it. Can one be bed-obsessed?

It is perfect. I love the proportions, the wood, the craftsmanship (of course) and the design.

It is is just what the room needed.

Thank you for this latest labor of love.

Robert,

I have really enjoyed working with you. You made the process very easy. It’s wonderful. Between digital cameras and the internet it’s easier than doing business locally.

Hi Robert,

Received the table this past Friday. It looks beautiful and is perfect in my place. That piece of wood is gorgeous. Thank you so much for such a wonderful piece of furniture that I will always treasure!

Hi Robert,
Once again, thanks for your great work.
Your bed was the first furniture in the room, so I’ve been shopping to build around it.
Frankly I’m finding it a challenge to find furniture that is a good match; the bed is perfect and I don’t want to spoil that look.
So I was wondering if you would be interested in building a dresser (maybe also a night stand) in a style/wood matching the bed?

Robert – thank you for making such a beautiful, functional table for us.
Everyone who’s seen it shares our opinion. It was fun showing it off
over the weekend, and confirmed our conviction that it’s the perfect
size and shape.

Dear Robert
We received the beautiful furniture. Our confidence has been well placed.
Wow! The mechanism was smooth and intuitive. The quality of the wood and craftsmanship was A+.
Thanks for the museum pieces.

Robert

Thank you so much for the most BEAUTIFUL bed we have ever had (and the setup too).

Now we have a bed we will enjoy the rest of our lives. The workmanship and artistry you put into the finished product are pure perfection. I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning–had a very good night’s sleep–the best since we’ve been in the condo. Every time I come into the BR now, I can’t stop staring at this piece of art. It feels perfect for our bedroom, our condo and us. We are so grateful. Thank you a thousand times.

It seems that every time I make one or a set I tweak this or that in the process. It uses steam bending, now the CNC machine , pattern shaping, hand carving of the handholds and a very tricky glue up.
When asked to make a round 50” dia pedestal tabl When asked to make a round 50” dia pedestal table — with a fold out “Butterfly” leaf I thought it impossible. But after some thought and several CAD drawings I came up with this version of a pedestal table and it has the fold out self storing leaf. Hitting 6 points in space at the top of the legs to mount the framework that houses the fold out leaf is a challenge.
